You can turn everyday objects into artistic pieces just by the way you present them. When you display something in a prime space, it naturally assumes value and beckons a second glance. You can thus create graphic accents, lithographs, art prints, photos from your album, a graffiti board, a black board, or a swatch board of textile.

Photo library
You can display artistically taken photographs of your family, in black and white or colour, old childhood photographs of yourself, your mom, your pet cat etc, and pictures from a fashion shoot that you happened to attend. Create a soft board where you can perhaps, add a wooden frame around it, paint a coat of silver, and stick these pictures.

Wallpaper
To enliven a wall, simply wallpaper it. You don't have to wallpaper the entire room, just one wall. Even a narrow one covering a niche will look great. It takes just a few hours, and will bring about a refreshing change indoors. You can even change it with the seasons. Some people love to wallpaper just a border near the ceiling, while others like to wallpaper only the centre, adding pattern and style to the space. If you travel abroad, you also find interesting wall decals which are modern art stickers of colourful flowers, tree boughs, people etc which you can place at intervals on a wall.

Graffiti
Create a large whiteboard, and have it fixed on a wall which is perhaps partly unused, and is in an odd place, say like behind a stairway. Use this white board to express your thoughts, ideas, and write messages. You need to make sure the board is kept clean when there are no messages, add a drawing which will have longer shelf life, and keep it trimmed with some nice stickers or applique work on the edges, so that it blends with the rest of the decor. Alternatively, you can pick up a black board for your child to draw, write a poem etc.

Photo prints
One of the easiest ways to create drama in a living or bed room is to enlarge a photo-print or a graphic print and place it prominently above your bed rest or behind the sofa, like a large print of wild poppies, sunset, or any other nature-inspired shot. You can also enlarge different parts or segments of photographs and frame them in a sequence to form a storyline. You can also have framed signed prints of famous Indian contemporary artists, or lithographs put up on your wall.

Frames
This is where you can include anything that you love, and have it framed. For instance, knick-knacks from around the house like attractive kitchen knives, miniature tea or garden sets, lace handkerchiefs, a set of wooden combs, architectural drawings, porcelain or sequined butterflies, Greek or Venetian masks, doll clothes and shoes. You can create relief by adding certain borders to your frame, or touch it up with some crafty trims.
